Can we use any USB fingerprint readers?
No, the Touch Registration system has been developed to interface
with the SecuGen HamsterTM III and DigitalPersona U.are.U
4000 USB fingerprint readers.
Where can we
purchase compatible fingerprint users?
We supply the readers as part of the package.
How do the readers work?
The readers work by scanning the student's fingerprint when they
first register and recording its unique details, which are then
converted into a digital code
that is stored in a secured database on the network server, not
locally on the PC or laptop. When the pupil scans their finger to
log in ot out of a session or lesson, the digital code is matched
and the software records their attendance.
Are the readers covered by a warranty?
All hardware supplied iscovered by our standard after-sales
support service.
What if the classroom PC is not situated
near the door or in a convenient location for registration?
In this situation USB extender cables up to 25m long can be provided
and installed - prices for this are availabe on application and
will require a site survey before we can quote.
How can we prevent the readers
being stolen?
We offer a choice of either horizontal or vertical mounting brackets
so that the readers can be securely fixed to either the wall or
a desk. These units can be supplied
either with or without a sound module.
